A new opportunity has become available for a driven and professional Financial Accountant to manage Catholic Healthcare (CHL) fixed asset portfolio. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you will be part of a busy team of Financial Accountants who maintain and oversee the financial records, transactions and taxation compliance of the organisation, and ensure accurate, timely and well-presented financial reporting is produced in a fast paced environment. 
Your proactive approach, exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills together with your high attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs, will aid your success. Your genuine curiosity to understand data and the ability to translate results and present them to non-financial key stakeholders with be crucial in developing trusted business partnerships.

Within this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Performing month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
• Managing general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions
• Monitoring and reviewing financial data, identifying/resolving any discrepancies
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting principles (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements
• Preparing and analysing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Identify and /or participate in initiatives to improve and streamline finance processes

The ideal applicant will have high attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to meet and adhere to strict deadlines. Additionally, to be successful in this role you’ll have;

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce (or equivalent)
• CPA / CA / CIMA Qualified or in the process of completing - preferred
• Experience with Microsoft AX - preferred
• 5+ years demonstrated experience managing a significant Fixed Asset portfolio
• Technically strong accounting principles knowledge, financial regulations, and reporting standards
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience in Aged Care/Healthcare/NDIS – Preferred
• Willingness to obtain a Police Check
