THE OPPORTUNITY 

The successful candidate will provide financial insights, technological expertise, and project management for technical procurement services to City’s stakeholders. They will support Technical Procurement Officers, improve procurement processes, and assist with strategic sourcing initiatives.

  Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide and mentor the Technical Procurement team with expertise and resources.
  • Regularly review and measure procurement procedures to implement process improvements and tools.
  • Assist in identifying and delivering commercial and procurement improvements with local and international suppliers.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify needs, conduct strategic sourcing, and plan market engagement.
  • Manage capital expenditure and developing replacement strategies considering commercial impacts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers and our partners to enhance sourcing opportunities.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for cost savings.

 To be considered for this role you will have / be:

  • A Trade Certificate or proven experience in refrigeration, HVAC and/or electrical. (highly regarded)
  • A Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Engineering or supply chain (highly regarded).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to liaise with all levels within the organisation.
  • Experience in Project Management and risk management
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills -Word, Excel and Access highly regarded
  • Must have strong communication and negotiation skills - verbal & written.
