What You'll Do 

  • Partner with operational leaders and managers to drive a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement. 
  • Coordinate incident management reporting and analysis and verify hazard control effectiveness. 
  • Lead incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation, and any corrective actions arising are monitored for completion.  
  • Develop, implement and enhance internal health, safety and compliance strategies, plans and policies necessary to optimise business performance and manage risk and compliance, whilst also regularly reviewing and evaluating company adherence to polices and regulations.  
  • Key contributor of incident, safety, compliance, risk and governance related reporting to Safety Committee, Management, Board, Audit Committee, Risk Committee and regulators.  
  • Key contact and administrator to the business for Safety Culture (Incident, Safety and Operational Management software), including system and template maintenance, managing users, reporting, training employees and communicating new system functionality.  
  • Operational compliance including liquor, food and other relevant licence and regulatory compliance, and carrying out internal audits and risk assessments where required. 
  • Contribute to the Risk Management framework and systems to achieve an integrated risk program and culture across the business, key contact and administrator to the business’s risk management software, along with analysis and reporting to all stakeholders. 
  • Provide support to business risk owners in meeting deliverables and requirements as part of the risk management function.  
  • Oversight of all risk types (not just safety related), the identification and management of emerging threats and opportunities, and assisting in the investigation of material incidents. 
  • Insurance claims administration across the company's insurance portfolio in liaison with brokers and consultants.  
  • Maintain understanding of the latest industry regulations and best practices. 

What You've Got 

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Work Health & Safety, Compliance and/or Risk role 
  • Cert IV in Work Health and Safety, as a minimum 
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the current WHS legislation and landscape, regulations, Australian standards, and codes of practice 
  • Proven experience in safety regulations and compliance, risk assessment and incident investigation 
  • Proactive, ability to work autonomously, with a sense of urgency and a positive can-do attitude 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Well organised planner who works well under timeline pressures. 
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with different stakeholders 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills 
  • A burning desire to show what you've got and what heights you can take the business!
