About the role:
As Compliance Manager, reporting to the Director, Risk, Safety and Wellbeing, you are the business’s go-to for risk management, compliance and insurance support. You’re relentlessly focused on streamlining systems, processes and reporting practices, applying a continuous improvement mindset to deliver tangible business improvements.
A systems whizz, you lead the business in digital systems evolutions for risk and compliance management to ensure systems deliver the most practical and effective reporting outputs to empower decision-makers and risk owners at all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):
Compliance
- Lead the streamlining and consolidation of compliance data streams and reporting tools to enable the best possible reporting outputs to support leaders, risk owners and decision-makers
- Develop and deliver audit and verification activity to actively test and verify compliance data and reporting outputs
Insurance
- Lead and proactively manage potential and active public liability insurance compensation claims, liaising with operations teams, insurance claims handlers, loss adjusters and insurers in obtaining material information/evidence, coordinating correspondence, ensuring timely action of all related task requirements through to allocation of funds
- Partner with operations teams in delivering public liability insurance loss prevention and risk mitigation activities to reduce business risk.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on all insurance matters including contract clauses relating to insurance.
Risk Management
- You champion a risk management mindset and approach across the business, ensuring systems, processes and data to enable effective mitigation of material risks.
- Partner with the Group Director – Risk, Safety & Compliance in owning the business Enterprise Risk Management Framework, facilitating operational risk reviews and the group risk register.
Third-Party Contractor Management
- Own and manage the business Third Party Contractor risk management framework, guidelines and supporting processes, including quarterly Tier 1 contractor performance review and reporting process.
- Conduct and coordinate pre-vetting risk and safety reviews of potential ‘Tier 1’ contractors as part of the TFE vendor procurement process
About You:
- Hold formal tertiary qualifications in Finance, Risk Management or a relevant Business-related degree
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar-sized and structured organisation
- An understanding of ISO 37301:2021 - Compliance management systems and how to establish and manage compliance frameworks to achieve objectives of the Standard
- Strong written communication skills and report writing experience, at executive & board level.
- Previous experience developing and delivering training programs to improve business knowledge, capability and performance
- Well-developed internal working relationships, to ensure effective management of key external relationships with brokers, insurers, and legal providers.
- Exceptional attention to detail, delivering high-quality outcomes
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 and confident working as a systems administrator
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
